I studied Production Engineering in the UK, where I come from originally. At the age of sixteen I started working in the engineering environment and my career has evolved ever since. I believe one should seize the occasion whenever an opportunity comes along – something that proved to be true in my own career too. I’ve always been glad I embraced the German adventure, even though it came at a price. My wife has a career of her own and is still based in the UK; we only get to see each other every third weekend. But Bremen life treats me well. Regarding my relocation, ATG made sure I had nothing to worry about, especially financially. The career opportunities here in Europe are far more exciting. As a Product Assurance Manager I make sure that before acceptance, a product does what it says on the box. This involves collating information, verifying compliance and providing recommendations when needed. And, best of all, regular international business trips to personally support suppliers and customers are part of the package too.
Outside of work, Bremen is the kind of city that forces you to take a break every now and then. For example, the shops are closed on Sundays, a perfect day to drive or maintain my classic motorbike and car. To me, sometimes there’s nothing better than to give your head a rest and get your hands dirty!
