    For one of our customers in Bremen, Germany, we are currently looking for a Mechanical AIT Lead Engineer.

They are specialized in Systems Engineering and offers high-tech solutions for space. These include low-orbiting and geostationary satellites for earth observation, navigation, telecommunications, science and space exploration as well as systems for manned space flight, aerial reconnaissance and process control systems.

As a Mechanical AIT Lead Engineer, you will be leading a group of 20+ people, responsible for the assembly, integration and testing of the mechanical parts and subsystems in a satellite serial production environment.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for all mechanical activities;
  • Team management of the mechanical team;
  • Planning of mechanical activities (incl. external suppliers);
  • Schedule update and control (mechanical inputs);
  • Coordination of (mechanical) processes and procedures update;
  • Participation in mechanical NRBs and decision making;
  • Organization of mechanical issues;
  • Support the mech. Team if needed;
  • Report to the MAIT manager.


  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant discipline (Aerospace Engineering, Physics);
  • A minimum of five years of experience in AIT or testing for satellites;
  • Experience in the mechanical assembly of satellite structures, including propulsion systems;
  • Experience with Mechanical ground support equipment (MGSE) and mechanical tool kits;
  • Good knowledge of the Mechanical Engineering standards of the European Cooperation for Space Standardization (ECSS);
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English, spoken and written. German is a plus.
