    For our client, the European Space Agency (ESA), we are looking for a System and Software Engineer for their location in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, to join their Projects Office.

For our client, the European Space Agency (ESA), we are looking for a System and Software Engineer for their location in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, to join their Projects Office.


Tasks & Responsibilities

  • As part of the System team in the projects office, the holder of the position will support Avionics and space electronics procurements from early definition phase through to qualification phase;
  • He/She will maintain interfaces with the relevant Contractors and subsystems responsible (industry/research institute) for the assigned projects as well as with the specific support at ESA (PA, EEE Parts expert, );
  • He/She will support system reviews of the assigned projects as required and follow up technical issues arising on the assigned projects and participate in risk reduction activities;
  • Support development contracts regarding the above areas, the Contractor shall act as the activity technical responsible;
  • Maintain interfaces with the prime contractors;
  • Participate in progress meetings and reviews, as requested, and provide appropriate feed-back on the achieved progress and results;
  • When supporting projects, he/she shall interface with ESAs project teams, the prime and lower level contractors;

Requirements

  • University degree (Masters) or equivalent qualification in Systems Engineering with at least 4 years of experience;
  • Expert knowledge of space electronics in particular avionics and communication subsystems through the complete lifecycle including design, development and AIV/qualification;
  • Knowledge of/experience in the practical application of engineering/quality standards would be an asset;
  • Expert knowledge of S/C system and mission design, incl. system design modelling tools and Concurrent Engineering applied to space mission assessment and design.Knowledge of System of Systems (SoS) architecting and related tools (such as System Architect, Focal Point, etc.) and frameworks (e.g. MODAF, TOGAF);
  • Knowledge and practice in the application of ESA SE Standards (e.g. ECSS-E-10 series) and SW engineering.
