    ATG is currently looking for a Software Engineer/IT for our clients premises in the Stuttgart area (Germany), to support their Galileo Programme team.

Our client has designed, integrated, tested, operated and delivered innovative space systems. There satellites and payloads are recognized worldwide as benchmarks in delivering communications and navigation services, monitoring our environment and the oceans, better understanding climate change and supporting scientific research. Today, they are one of the main suppliers to the International Space Station, and a pivotal player in systems to explore our Universe.

The Software Engineer will be involved in the developing of a new Galileo Element including security aspects where understanding of involved SW-technologies and architecture is required. Furthermore, software in new exciting GNSS and communication areas shall be developed.


Tasks & Responsibilities

  • System and functional understanding and analysis of user requirements in order to determine the overall software lifecycle, and to derive the software specification, system interfaces, and the verification concept;
  • Development and elaboration of the software architecture and the detailed design;
  • SW implementation according to the required code quality standard, definition and execution of unit testing and documentation, support to the system testing activities;
  • Technical planning of the software development life-cycle aligned with the system development;
  • Estimation and conduction of the SW development activities;
  • Analysis and correction of anomalies raised;
  • Contribute to project reporting and control for the assigned tasks and work packages.

Requirements

  • Degree in software, computer science or similar;
  • Proven experience in developing medium and large software systems comprising processing, simulations, security, timing accuracy, communication units and HMI (5 years);
  • Proven experience in UML language (3 years), Enterprise Architect an advantage;
  • Proven experience of network and network protocols, TCP/IP (1-3 years);
  • Experience in satellite navigation and communication systems;
  • Mandatory SW language experience: C++, Javascript, XML (5 years);
  • Process-oriented and self-sustained working style (e.g. ESA, Agile principles);
  • Proficient user of GIT/JIRA and RHEL Linux, DOORS is a plus;
  • General knowledge of Ground and Space SW concepts, ECSS or GSWS-G would be beneficial;
  • Good communication and facilitation skills, able to interrelate;
  • Ability to co-ordinate and instruct a small team of software developers;
  • Fluent in German and English essential (written technical reports and spoken);
  • Ability and will to travel.
